QSP Desktop Downloads

Available for download
QSP 2.0 . To download, please login on the left and then click the Download QSP link.  If you have problems with overlapping text, try changing the size of the text in your browser.

Please update to the latest version (QSPnew.zip) dated November 6, 2002

Note: Windows XP users, please download this file and replace the QSP.exe file with this one (only after you install from the download). This file will not work by itself. This file gets past an issue in XP where custom groups could not be created.

Note: After you register, it will take a little bit of time for you to be verified before you are assigned a download ID via email.  Your patience is appreciated.  If it has been some time, please email John Lee at johnjn@ucla.edu

This software is available free over the web to public schools and districts in the U.S. only.  QSP is also not available to consultants, so if you are working with a particular school, please have someone from the school site register and request a download id.

If you would like to order a copy of the CD-ROM, please send a check for $35 payable to "Regents of UC" and mail the check along with your contact information to:

Recently added features/fixes:

Newest Feature:  Summary Extract.  This is done from the File Menu > Summary Extract.  This feature will allow you to export a file that has the median or average score for numeric variables and percentages of categories for categorical variables and will also list the individual students and their scores or characteristics over the range of years you set.  Read more: Additional Features.doc   Download the update file: QSPnew.zip after you login and have clicked the Download QSP link.

New QSP Developments

QSP has undergone some major and minor developments from the past version of 1.7 to 2.0. Perhaps the most significant change is the individual student reporting. This function allows teachers to create reports on individual students which gives educators a more focused measurement. Also, school performance reports have been updated as well. This enables the user to simply click on a question such as "How are students performing at different grade levels in writing?", and QSP automatically generates reports to answer this question. The goals menu has been updated as well with new capabilities and the format is more legible. Finally, the project utility has been installed which enables users to duplicate and re-name projects.

Other minor changes include:

Please note: this download is large (40 MB) because it includes the installation files for the new database structure, as well as an html version of our manual.  Future upgrades will be smaller since it will likely include only the program file and some associated files.

You will need winzip (which can be downloaded from www.winzip.com) or similar utility to unzip the files, and then run the installer (setup.exe). Note: do not change the install directory to the program files folder, as the QSP Data Manager will not work if you do.
